“Evil” Porshe RUF RT12

Everybody knows that German manufacturer Porsche makes very powerful and sporty cars, even SUV Cayenne pretends to be a sport car. Most popular Porsche is “911” model. For most automotive enthusiasts “911” is the most known combination of three digits to be related with Porsche. Such models as the Porsche 911 Turbo (996) are still most wanted because it’s good looking, very powerful and extremely fast. So what’s happening when someone tries to do Porsche more powerful and of course faster? The best example is Porsche RUF RT12. We don’t mean it’s very powerful car – we want to say that it’s a “beast” with 650 HP engine capable to generate 870 Nm torque and propels this “beast” from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.7 seconds. I bet that nobody could say this car is somehow related with word “slow”.
There are three different engines available for Porsche RUF RT12. Actually all three versions have the very same engine but some modifications gives different power output: 530 HP, 560 HP and 650 HP. All engine versions are boosted with two turbo chargers (twin turbo).
Standard version of Porsche RUF RT12 has a rear wheel drive, but you can spend some extra money and you will get a version with all wheel drive if you want. And we think it’s necessary when we talk about car that has engine boosted to 650 HP for better and safer grip with road. For more grip RUF equipped RT12 with serious wheels – 19 and 20 inch, five-spoke light alloy rims. Suspension of Porsche RUF RT12 is specially designed and makes this car capable of reaching speed of 350 km/h safest possible way. For more safety RT12 has very powerful brake system with huge perforated brake discs. To get more braking power and for more stability when you driving at speeds near 300 km/h and more, RT12 is equipped with effective aerodynamics producing more down force than usual Porsche aerodynamic elements. Also the suspension is lowered about 5 centimeters and that is very interesting because even original Porsche cars have not very high suspension setup.
Cockpit is modified as well. You can find expensive materials and exclusive design there, but the most interesting thing is a roll cage that is also available for extra money. Roll cage is more necessary for motor sport cars, but we think that it is a must in this car because of two simple reasons. First reason – if I decide to reach the biggest available speed with this car, I really want to do that with roll cage in the cockpit. Just in case… And the second reason – if I had such a car it would be a very good experience to try my skills at the real race track where the roll cage is not an option but a must.
So it’s very impressive modified Porsche. And our Nr1 team thinks that a lot of car fans will want to buy one, but there is some bad news about price of this car. Porsche RUF RT12 costs about 225000 euros without taxes and it is a price only for basic model with 530 HP engine. Every modification will cost you a lot of money, and an engine with 650 HP power output will cost you extra 10000 euro. Even a roll cage costs about 11000 euro. But for those who are doing well and are capable of purchasing this car we’d still recommend 650 HP engine and roll cage. It is necessary to get more fun.
