Audi A4 DTM Edition

DTM is a very popular racing series in Germany. In these races you can see Audi cars racing with other German brands and maybe because of good 2004 year results Audi decided to build a DTM branded car which could be affordable for everyone. I should notice that Audi A4 DTM is not the same car as Audi DTM. There are lots of differences between racing and this road legal A4 DTM car. Audi DTM race car has engine with power output of 460 HP and Audi A4 DTM has 220 HP. You may be a bit disappointed but trust me – it’s enough for most of drivers. An old Audi S2 model was powered with 2.2 liter displacement, 5 cylinders inline engine boosted with turbo charger and the power output of this engine was about 220 HP. Audi A4 DTM is based on Audi A4 2.0 Turbo FSI model, but DTM Edition has an engine upgrade with power output from stock 200 HP to 220 HP. With this modified motor car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. It is not such impressive acceleration time and it will newer beat the acceleration time of real Audi DTM car or even Audi RS4 but for everyday use it’s just enough.

Audi A4 DTM Edition has not only engine modifications but also it has exterior design kit such like an Audi RS4 has. Aggressive body lines and huge air intakes makes this car look more sporty and impressive. Modifications were also made to the interior design of this car with such details like polished aluminium parts, exclusive leather and other things. Also the exhaust system was modified to give special sound at the high revs. The suspension is exactly the same as in Audi RS4 model and available only with all wheel drive system Quattro. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. Car is equipped with more powerful brakes with bigger rotors for more effective braking even from serious speeds.

For those who are looking for everyday use car bur still want to have little bit more than Audi A4 2.0 FSI Turbo this car is be the best choice. I think it’s worth extra money. We will try to write more about this car right after the first road test.
